80s Paris: Bold & Bright

Welcome to the heart of Paris—or rather, its “belly.” That was the nickname for the Les Halles district, once home to the city’s largest food market. Times have changed, but between the 1st and 2nd arrondissements, the city’s pulse beats stronger than ever. From the splendor of the Louvre to the creative energy of the Sentier—where trendy coffee shops and chic offices now line the streets—there is never a dull moment here.

This is one of my favorite neighborhoods, and to show you why, I’ve decided to take you back to the vibrant 1980s. Together, we’ll travel back in time to explore the bustling streets where the first ready-to-wear brands were born and the legendary, wild party spots of the decade.

You’ll discover a side of Paris that is truly alive, as I share its secrets with you—both from the past and the present. We’ll walk in the footsteps of the artists and fashion designers who defined 80s Paris, from the Louvre Pyramid to the Buren Columns, and from Jean-Paul Gaultier to Thierry Mugler. Along the way, we’ll uncover famous landmarks and hidden gems alike, stepping into Paris’s most secret covered passages. This is a multi-sensory experience: you will breathe, taste, and hear the very soul of 80s Paris. Welcome to my time machine!
